Manitoba brings in more COVID restrictions

The tougher government restrictions singled out Manitobans aged 12 -17 who participate in indoor recreational sports, and religious gatherings.

Manitoba introduced new COVID-19 public health restrictions Friday, with possible further “imminent”changes,” warned Health Minister Audrey Gordon.

Another public health update may be made “as early as next week,” Gordon said at a news conference.

“Changes could be imminent at any time depending on what the numbers reveal.”

The tougher government restrictions singled out Manitobans aged 12 -17 who participate in indoor recreational sports, and religious gatherings.

Effective December 5, a province-wide restriction will apply to youth aged 12-17 participating in indoor sports.

Proof of at least one dose or a negative test from within 72 hours of participation must be provided. The onus is on Manitobans to privately obtain these tests at participating pharmacies.

Effective 12:01 a.m. Saturday in the Southern Health region, attendance cannot exceed 25% capacity of any religious venue — even those not requiring proof of vaccination — up to a maximum 250 people.

Enforcement officers will monitor religious facilities.

“They will be unannounced and regularly checked during this public health order being in effect,” said Gordon.

Vaccinated and unvaccinated worshipers must remain separate.

“They must not mingle in any way. They must have masks on at all times, and distancing rules apply,” said Chief Provincial Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin.

Religious services with only fully vaccinated attendees have no capacity limits in the Southern Health region.

This region has the lowest vaccination rate of 68%. The average in five health regions stands at 87% who have received one dose, and 84.2% who have received two jabs.

The restrictions were attributed to a need to curb the COVID-19 spread seen in a daily spike in cases.

The current five-day test positivity rate for Manitoba is 6.1%. A total of 395 new COVID-19 cases and one death were reported in the past two days, 193 Friday and 166 Thursday.

Of Friday’s new cases, 96, or 50%, are people not vaccinated, nine or 5% are partly vaccinated; and 88 or 46% are fully vaccinated.

Currently, province-wide, 145 COVID-19 patients are in hospital. Of those, 30 are in intensive care, with 91% of them unvaccinated and the remainder fully vaccinated.

There was one reported death of a male in his 80s, bringing the number of COVID-19 deaths in the province to 1,269.

Roussin claimed there are significant new cases in those aged 0-19.

Without the new restrictions modelling data indicates cases will climb into December which could increase hospitalization and ICU admissions, he said

Meanwhile, surgeries scheduled after November 18 may be postponed, and will increase Manitoba’s 110-bed intensive care capacity.

Those whose procedures are being postponed will receive a call, said Monika Warren, COVID-19 operations chief at Shared Health.

Again targetting the churches…what about the WalMarts, Costcos, etc. The Bible predicted these last days and the coming One World Government over 2,000 years ago. The church is in the way of this tyranny and so they need to control them and eventually eliminate them. Keep fighting!!!

SASKFREEDOM, As a fellow Saskatchewan producer, I totally agree and will never take the poison. This is all about ushering in the Great Reset (aka One World Order) not Covid. And sadly the masses are blind to what’s coming and acquiescing to all the demands in hopes of returning to “normal”. It’s called hiding their head in the sand….

I am currently in Montana. I reside in Alberta, flew in before Biden’s Nov 8 mandate requiring a vaccine!! Montana has 4 times the covid death rate of Alberta!!! However, you find very few masks and a vaccine rate of 50% plus 1 or 2 [percent). As the educated in Covid 19 know there is a group susceptible to Covid, they have one or more comorbidities. That is where the concern should be placed and money spent!!! Kids getting vaxed is ridiculous!! That being said, bureaucrats have used this crisis to build their empires. I would not give them enough credit to call it a conspiracy!! There may only be 15% of us left. But, do not give in to this stupidity!!

I personally know many Saskatchewanean farmers who have large food stores (thousands and thousands of bushels) who are unvaccinated with no intention of being vaccinated (i also know 80%+ who got vaccinated because their low iq individuals like Moe who can’t suffer the thought of not going to Mexico or Jamaica this winter). The unvaccinated big operators, is likely why traitor Moe signed the traitorous Emergency act saying they could come take your herd, your land, your grains in the bin, your house, your children without cause other than… the government needs your stuff productive people… to give to communists in the city who don’t have dog food for their poodle.

Here’s a suggestion off the top of my head.

It is the positive test of Covid that leads to lack of treatment for 14 days. And there is very little transparency as to the tests (I recall seeing Danielle Smith questioning Kenney and stating that when the test machines sensitivity is turned up beyond a certain level (which they have been in the past) they produce as much as 97% false positives.) So, if you have flu-like symptoms go to your doctor and ask for treatment but dont take the Covid test. If they refuse to treat you try to find a doctor that will, without having the test.

The doctors are all subject to the Hippocratic Oath. Suggest that they could be disciplined by the Medical Association(s) if they refuse. Any real early treatment is better than none. research how Trump, Guiliani, Joe Rogan, etc. were cured, and then ask if those things might be a cure for your symptoms.

I dont think the doctors out there on the front line like these “mandates” preventing them from doing their job any more than you and I do. Lets see if we can help them. And start making public noise about an overhaul of the medical regulatory bodies that are threatening the front-line doctors with loss of their licenses if they dont go along with this Covid Hoax and Fraud.

LESLIE SOLAR. Totally agree. The maleficence of not providing proven early treatment is why people are being hospitalized and dying – nothing to do with being jabbed or obeying the restrictions. Even Gates recently admitted the poison jabs have failed. But even more critical is that cases, vaccination rates, etc. are just the trojan horse to bring in the New One World Government as designed by the 1% running the WEF. Our politicians are puppets in their hands following orders along the hierarchy from above. While we are looking “here”, those evil elites are working “there” to destroy small business, to subjugate the masses to obey, etc. so that sooner than we think “we will own nothing and we will be happy”. This is the fault of the masses who so quickly succumbed to fear, trusted their governments to have their best interests and health at heart, and acquiesced so easily…..I fear, despite all the protests – which are too late, that this tyranny cannot be stopped.

The Federal & Provincial Health Authorities have deliberately lied to the Citizens and followed the corrupt WHO guidelines which vilified real treatments that worked like HCQ & Ivermectin. The WHO is fully controlled by the CCP . . . as is our Crime Minister!

    Here’s a message to the Karens out there . . .

A Canadian cardiologist who tempted fate by claiming he would never shed a tear for unvaccinated deaths died suddenly in his sleep weeks after receiving his Covid booster jab.

This week it was reported Dr. Sohrab Lutchmedial, 52, a director of the Interventional Cardiology program at the New Brunswick Heart Centre, died suddenly in his sleep.

“It is with profound sadness that we report the sudden and unexpected death of a colleague, friend, father, partner and inspiring spirit,” read a statement from the New Brunswick Heart Centre.

Months earlier, the Saint John-based cardiologist had made his sentiments toward the “selfish” unvaccinated known in a July Twitter post, in which he claimed he would not feel sad at their funerals.

    Karma is a b’ach . . .

Many treatments work. I had a close friend who took Monoclonal antibodies. They felt much better in 24 hours. And release from hospital in 3 days.

In time people will be aware of all this corruption. All these criminals will need to move out of Canada as they will be shunned by the public.

And no MSM media says anything about the treatments? Why. Hmmm.

oh yes, BTW, did you catch the statistic–46% of new cases were those FULLY VACCINATED. With a vaccine that either: is not a vaccine; or if it is, it DOESNT WORK. But lets punish the unvaccinated (who may have herd immunity) and reward those taking this alleged “vaccine”.

How they are getting away with this is mind-boggling.

what is being overlooked here is one simple fact. Early treatment is being prohibited and sabotaged. Let early treatment happen, and all of this BS fearmongering falls apart. The health authorities are guaranteeing hospitals ICU’s will be over=run by not allowing early treatment.

Donald Trumps doctors werent deterred. They treated The Donald immediately he had symptoms. Got him cured within about 3 days. No 14 days without treatment for him. No trip to Emerg. or an ICU had to happen. Rudy Guiliani also–cured in 1 day after symptoms appeared. And the latest high-profile guy—Joe Rogan. (Funny how none of the Senators in the US or Congressmen have ended up with serious cases. Or 14 days of no treatment. or trips to Emerg. or an ICU.)

And the India-trained doctor practising in africa who has treated 4000 patients with no hospitalizations, and not even supplemental oxygen ever required.

But if you want an excuse to lock down small business, and fear-monger so that you can bludgeon your populace to take an experimental DNA-altering shot that has significant immediate ugly side effects, all you have to do is threaten the rank and file of doctors with loss of their medical license, prevent early treatment, and prevent Pharmacies from filling prescriptions for medicines that work.

Simple as that. Oh, and have some bought-and-paid-for politicians go along with this outrageous hoax.

On the lighter side, friends, a couple of memes were sent to me today:
The government is in a bit of a dilemma…
They have to convince the unvaccinated that the jab does work at the same time as convincing the vaccinated that it doesn’t work so that they get the boosters.
and…For the first time ever, a medicine’s ineffectiveness is being blamed on those who haven’t taken it.
Cheers to all of my fellow critical thinkers.

Unbelievable and yet so believable when you realize what the government is attempting to accomplish. Hilliary Clinton and Obama both spoke about Saul Alinsky and his 8 levels of control. It was this individual that spoke about “Useful Idiots”. Manitoba is going down this road and fellow Manitobans need to figure out where their “line in the sand” is. A great podcast that spoke to me about this was Shaun Newman Podcast # 217 interviewing RCMP Corporal Daniel Bulford. Everyone of us needs to figure out where our line in the sand is; if we have one. Remember it all started with “two weeks to flatten the curve” and most were compliant. Not only do we need to determine where it is for each of us but to help others see that they too need to determine that line. Otherwise we too will become “Useful Idiots”.

“Vaccinated and unvaccinated worshipers must remain separate.”

How does this make any sense, whatsoever? I thought the whole point of herd immunity was that the vaccinated would stop the spread in communities that contain unvaccinated. Using this logic, you would want to intersperse these groups as much as possible. Keeping the communities separate like this will only serve to create super-spreader hot-spots. Of course, if your objective isn’t to contain a virus but rather to bring in an authoritarian new world order using divide and conquer tactics, then this strategy is brilliant.

    November 12, 2021 at 3:00 pm

Good grief. Who is even buying this anymore? By their logic, the vaccinated need to be protected from the unvaccinated?? In what world does someone NOT question that!? I’m baffled that this has gone on this long…
If they continue to fear monger with only 145 in hospital and 30 in ICU in a province of millions with no one calling them out then we are all doomed.
Let’s also look at how they define “unvaccinated” ie. it’s within 14 days of either a first or second dose, correct? So potentially hiding a lot of vaccine adverse events/vaccine injury and saying it’s all “unvaccinated” cases. This world has gone off the deep end.

Maskless teen student with asthma ostracized at Calgary Catholic school

“Kids in my class called me an ‘outsider’ which made me feel worse than I already felt,” said 14-year-old Darius.

A Calgary Catholic school has segregated and since banned a student from attending school for not wearing a mask, says the student’s parents.

And before that, teachers had even taped off an area around the boy’s desk “like a crime scene.”

Darius Lynn, a Grade 9 student at St. Helena Junior High School in Calgary, suffers from asthma and was permitted to go maskless at his desk during the 2020-2021 school year.

When Darius returned to St. Helena for the 2021-2022 school year, without his parents’ knowledge, he was advised he would be required to wear a mask full time.

He complied for the first few months but eventually reported to his parents in late November he was struggling to breathe while wearing the mask.

“I had no idea he was told to wear a mask again this year,” Darius’ mother Stephanie told the Western Standard.

“My husband and I just assumed he wasn’t needing to wear a mask again this year.”

Stephanie said she and her husband Paul reached out to the new principal and Darius’ teachers to request they allow their son the same exemption as the previous year.

They were told he would need a doctor’s note, which Stephanie said they have been unable to acquire.

“Mask exemptions are impossible to get,” said Stephanie.

“Right now, doctors are just too scared to write them.”

Stephanie said the school’s solution was to, “move my son’s desk into the hallway.”

Darius also spoke with the Western Standard and said the teenagers in his class referred to him as an “outsider” after he was moved into the hallway.

“When they did group projects, they would just send me to the library and I had to work on my own,” said Darius.

“Kids in my class called me an ‘outsider’ which made me feel worse than I already felt.”

Stephanie said she and her husband tried to appeal to the principal, but “she wouldn’t budge,” so they reached out to the superintendent.

“We begged for her to let Darius back into the classroom but he ended up sitting out there for two weeks where he was discriminated against and basically ridiculed so we contacted the superintendent,” said Stephanie.

Stephanie said she emailed Chief Superintendent Bryan Szumlas with the Catholic School Board who helped the Lynns get their son moved back into his classroom.

“So, he was moved back into the classroom, which was good, but what we didn’t know was that his teachers taped off the floor around his desk like a crime scene,” said Stephanie.

“After they put tape on the floor around my desk, some of the kids in my class would step past the tape and pretend they couldn’t breathe,” said Darius, explaining the teasing he endured.

Darius said his teachers had witnessed some of the teasing, but said, “most of the time the teachers didn’t do anything about it.

“They (teachers) also made me wait a few minutes before I could move to my next class because there were basically a bunch of students in the halls.”

“It was just awful what they were doing to him. They were treating him like a walking disease and visibly segregating him,” said Stephanie.

Stephanie said Darius had to stay within his taped boundaries for about a week until Christmas break.

“After the break, the principal notified us that Darius wouldn’t be welcome back if he wasn’t willing to wear a mask,” said Stephanie.

“In fact, one of the communications with the school referred to his asthma as his ‘apparent asthma’ like we were making it up or something.

“They said he could move to the online schooling system or do their D2L system from home,” said Stephanie referring to a web-based learning system offered throughout the school division.

“He doesn’t do well online so we are just trying to do the best we can. He’s in Grade 9, he should be able to be with his peers to finish off his last year in middle school.”

Darius said he has mixed feelings about not returning to school.

“I’m just really upset that I don’t get to see my friends anymore, but I also feel like I have less distractions at home,” said Darius.

Stephanie said it’s been a hard year for Darius as he also had to walk away from community hockey due to the vaccination mandates and additional costs associated with frequent rapid testing.

“He is totally destroyed,” said Stephanie.

The Lynns have two other sons — both attending Notre Dame High School — one in Grade 11 who is special needs and one in Grade 12.

“The real kicker for us is that we have a special needs son who has never worn a mask, doesn’t social distance and we have never been required to show a doctor’s note for him,” said Stephanie.

“They have totally humiliated my son and I’m angry. We just want our son to be treated with dignity and compassion. He has lost hockey because of the mandates and now he isn’t allowed to go to school.”

The family has since been referred to Area Director Deana Helton with regard to their son’s situation.

The Western Standard has contacted the school principal along with Helton but hasn’t heard back yet.

Copping strikes EMS advisory committee amid system strains, red alerts

The Alberta Provincial EMS Advisory Committee will provide recommendations on a provincial EMS service plan by May.

Health Minister Jason Copping has appointed MLAs R.J. Sigurdson (Highwood) and Tracy Allard (Grande Prairie) to co-chair a new EMS committee to address “unprecedented” demands on the healthcare system.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is also rolling out a 10-point plan to maximize EMS system capacity.

The government listed many aggravating factors driving the system strains including “EMS staffing fatigue and illness, hospital offload delays, more requests for patient transfers, delays in receiving new ambulances and specialized vehicle parts caused by global supply issues.”

The province has seen a plethora of “red alerts” reported by EMS members and tweeted by the Union of Health Care Professionals @HSAAlbertaEMS. A red alert is when there are no available ambulances for emergency calls.

The government also reported a 30% increase in 911 calls in recent months. There was no mention of personnel shortages caused by the government’s COVID-19 mandate.

“Alberta’s government has been supportive of EMS throughout the pandemic. As we approach the peak of Omicron cases, we know the EMS system is seeing significant strain, which impacts service. We recognize this is a challenge and are taking immediate steps to improve emergency care access while we explore longer-term solutions,” said Copping.

AHS will immediately hire more paramedics, transfer low-priority calls to other agencies, and stop automatic ambulance dispatch to motor vehicle accidents with no injuries. AHS is also “launching pilot projects to manage non-emergency inter-facility transfers, and initiating an ‘hours of work’ project to help ease staff fatigue.”

Dr. Verna Yiu, president and CEO of AHS is confident these actions “will allow us to better support our EMS staff and front-line paramedics, and in turn this will ensure our patients receive the best care possible.”

Additionally, AHS will issue a request for proposals in February to conduct a third-party review of Alberta’s provincewide EMS dispatch system.

“The objective review by external health system experts will provide further opportunities to address ongoing pressures, improve effectiveness and efficiency through best practices, and provide the best outcomes for Albertans who call 911 during a medical event,” the government said.

The Alberta Provincial EMS Advisory Committee will provide recommendations on a provincial EMS service plan by May. Committee representatives include “contracted ambulance operators, unions representing paramedics, municipal representatives and Indigenous community representatives.”

Sigurdson said the committee will consider taxpayers’ needs.

“Albertans expect that when they call 911 in their time of greatest need, EMS will always answer. The committee’s goal will be focused around ensuring and improving service to Albertans while supporting the most critical piece of that equation: our EMS staff across all of Alberta.”

WATCH: O’Toole will not be welcoming the truckers in Ottawa

“It’s not for the leader of the Opposition to attend a protest on the Hill or a convoy, it’s up to politicians to advocate for solutions, in a way that’s responsible and respectable to the health crisis we are in.”

Conservative leader Erin O’Toole was asked six times during a Monday press conference about his stance on the truckers Freedom Convoy 2022, before giving a vague answer.

“We have been talking with the Canadian Trucking Alliance for several months,” said O’Toole told reports.

“We’ve seen a crisis in the supply chain coming for several months and we’ve proposed policies to try to help alleviate that. The most important of which is vaccines. We encourage everyone to get vaccinated.”

O’Toole press conference

Other specific. questions on the truckers’ comments were left with vague answers.

But the end of the conference O’Toole said it’s not his place to get involved.

“It’s not for the leader of the Opposition to attend a protest on the Hill or a convoy — it’s up to politicians to advocate for solutions, in a way that’s responsible and respectable to the health crisis we are in,” O’Toole said.

“We’ve been trying to tackle the supply chain crisis, encourage vaccination, not ignore problems and divide the country like Mr. (Justin) Trudeau does.”

O’Toole said policies cannot be put in place which could contribute to supply chain issues, as Canadians are already worried about their grocery bills.

O’Toole said he was focused on the economic strain Canadians are having, with record inflation, cost of living, 30% higher gas prices and the housing market’s rising costs,.
