Calgary chamber calls for vaccine passports

The province, especially Calgary, has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases since the restrictions were dropped.

The Calgary Chamber of Commerce will lobby the provincial government to bring in a vaccine passport, an idea Premier Jason Kenney has already rejected.

Chamber President Deborah Yedlin told the CBC Eyeopener some Calgary businesses have contacted them expressing concerns the province may be forced to bring back regulations, suspended only last month.

The province, especially Calgary, has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases since the restrictions were dropped.

“Our members have told us that a vaccine certificate passport is a very good idea, and it’s really, really critical to be able to continue to open successfully and consistently,” Yedlin said.

“If we’re not going to be testing, tracing and isolating, we need another mechanism to keep everyone safe.”

Quebec announced last week they will be bringing in COVID-19 passports.

Quebec Premier Francois Legault said a vaccine passport would allow those who have received two doses to continue to “live a normal life.”

And he took aim at Quebecers who have not received their COVID-19 vaccines saying they will lose privileges if they don’t get two doses.

“Get your two doses … it’s the only way to end this pandemic,” the premier said.

He told reporters the vaccine passport will be used “in order [for] people who made the effort to be vaccinated, that they are able to come back to a normal life.”

Yedlin said a similar plan could work here, giving proprietors the right to screen customers.

“There’s an adage in business: If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it,” Yedlin said.

“So that tool that comes with the test, trace, isolate is disappearing. So what’s the next best mechanism? It’s the vaccine.”

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has also said they have no intention of bringing in vaccine passports.

It is time to stop with being nice to the promoters of bad medicine. The path they are choosing shows their Nazi idealisms with a side of apartheid. They need to consult with a constitutional lawyer before spouting their rhetoric to whip up the jabba jabba brigade who have lied about doing their own research. Anyone associated with this demand from the chamber of commerce will be implicated as promoting the above mentioned idealisms.

These ridiculous boomers are trying so damn hard to hold onto all their material assets that they are subjugating future generations to an extreme medical class system, and relinquishing our freedoms for THEIR security. Selfish, fear-based narcissism at its finest.

Quebec’s not part of Canada anyways, well maybe the worst part, so anyone who would bother to go there, is going to a foreign country. As for Calgary and sure Edmonton would be all for this, just make them there own country as well and their citizens foreigners. They have done more to divide AB then anywhere. We haven’t got one case, why should we ever have been locked up like living in China. Kenney won’t bring it in, least of all because Iveson and Nenshi ask for it

    Awesome Deb! Good stuff.
The only thing I’d caution is the terminology of “you aren’t a qualified medical professional”, because although it’s certainly true she doesn’t have any first hand knowledge of medicine, it’s also true that lots of “qualified medical professionals” follow the political science rather than read actual medical journals in practice.
We have to be careful in how we phrase things as we have been under a ridiculous and false medical dictatorship for about a year and a half, by people with “qualified medical” credentials, but who do not personally understand the science of the political polices they push forward. The qualified medical professionals who explain the real science, masks don’t work, no evidence for 6ft social distancing etc etc, get silenced, slandered and often fired or have their licenses politically removed.
In the end it’s a false dichotomy to suggest “you aren’t a qualified mefical” anything, since nobody, “qualified” or not gets final decision over what medicines or poison I take into my body.

I absolutely must advise against how the resistance to this medical tyranny is told, “see what your doctor says”…. oh they mean the same doctor who receives written warnings from their Provincial licensing association that if they advise against the vaccine they’ll be investigated for malpractice? Those guys?

I own my body, not anyone else, be it medical professional or not. I may seek advice of those I trust (some who may or may not be medical professionals) to inform my decision, but ultimately, it’s my decision and I am the only one with the ultimate authority to make it. My medical decisions for my own body are not decided by a corrupt unscientific cartel of controlled people to decide, no matter what letters completion of a program a communist university put behind their name.

Chamber President Deborah Yedlin you are not a Qualified medical professional and, therefor, you are unlawfully by recommending, advertising, incentivizing, mandating, facilitating and /or using coercion or undue influence, to insist the public submit to the experimental medical treatment for Covid -19, namely being injected with the experimental gene therapies commonly refer to as a “vaccine”.
To begin with, the emergency measures are based on the claim we are experiencing a “ public health emergency.” There is no evidence to substantiate this claim. In fact, the evidence indicates that we are experiencing a rate of infection consistent with a normal influenza season.
The PCR test has been proven ineffective at testing for Covid. The PCR Test can be used to find almost
anything, in anybody. If you can amplify one single molecule, then you can find it because that molecule is nearly in every person. It has been well established that the PCR test was never designed or intended as a diagnostic tool and is not an acceptable instrument to measure viral infections.
These are some of the reasons as to why Alberta is no longer testing, tracing or isolating.
Now for the vaccination. Vaccinated people still get and spread Covid. It’s suppose to protect you , from having a less severe symptoms of the disease. This has not been proven because the trial studies don’t end til 2023.
Vaccination is voluntary in Canada, Canadian law has long recognized that individuals have the right to control what happens to their bodies, laws which are being directly infringed upon by officials.
The citizens of Canada are protected under the medical and legal ethics of expressed informed consent, without intervention of any element of force, duress or overreaching to name a few that apply with threat of vaccine passports segregating and discriminating against people because they choose not to get an experimental vaccine.
Officials are not only infringing on human rights, they are putting themselves at risk of a civil lawsuit for damages and potential imprisonments by attempting to impose this experimental treatment on citizens.
Canadian Citizens of Canada are protected under the medical and legal ethics of express informed consent and are entitled to the full protections guaranteed under
    * Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
    * Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights
    * Nuremberg Code (1947)
    * Helsinki Declaration
I will be serving you and other officials as well as elected officials a “Vaccine” Notice of Liability https://action4canada.com/wp-content/uploads/Vaccine-Notice-of-Liability-Elected-Officials.pdf

    Are the vaccines effective?
Yes -> then vaccine passports are useless
No -> then vaccine passports are useless

Though that says it all, I would add for the idiots who argue , “Well yes but sometimes no”… then vaccine passports are useless, mind your own business.

Remember when everyone used to ask, “How could interment camps have been allowed to happen”, “How could fellow countrymen allow their neighbors to go to gulags, and even call them in”, “how come the average German allow segregation/imprisonment of Jews”, “How could communist governments kill their own people”…
Remember when everyone in Canada used to learn about historic segregation and subhuman treatment, and second or no class citizenry and ask “How could anyone just allow this to happen”.
These are the same Nazi’s today demanding forced vaccinations, interment camps for invected or unvaccinated, demanding removal of healthcare coverage, demanding fees, rejecting the unvaccinated from society. And there’s not a shred of evidence that the vaccines aren’t going to cause more harm long term to the “societal good”, than letting the original virus run its course. In fact the evidence mounts that the injection is neither safe, nor effective, and it is actually the cause of variants emerging. But tyranny is now doubling down on their, “They deserve it” rhetoric, with all scientific evidence, pointing to the opposite. And idiots just eat this junk science up. It is actually not science at all, but has all the hallmarks of propaganda.

Let’s see… If we lock down for 2 weeks no further restrictions will be needed. Then it was if we quarantine all sick and those who are in contact with the sick and anyone who recently traveled we won’t need further restrictions. Then it was if we all mask up and do our part and follow the rules we won’t need more restrictions. What makes these fools think that a vaccine passport will mean we won’t need more restrictions if our overlords in the UCP and AHC decide it is so? Beyond the fact no one needs to concern themselves over someone else’s health status, it is very much against the health privacy laws in Alberta, and opens the government up to more law suits than they are currently exposed to. PLUS IT IS JUST A BAD IDEA!!!

What these proposals fail to address is that there are legitimate reasons for not getting the COVID vaccine. A person’s medical status and treatment is protected private information, at least while this remains a free country. And why are the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who have recovered from COVID and have better immunity than the vaccinated never considered?

Kenney leadership review to be held April 9 in Red Deer, in convention-style vote

The UCP board decided not to listen to demands from 22 constituency associations that wanted a review by March at the latest, said a Western Standard source close to the board.

A pay-to-vote leadership review of United Conservative Party leader Jason Kenney will be held April 9 in Red Deer, the Western Standard has learned.

The UCP board decided not to listen to demands from 22 constituency associations that wanted a review by March at the latest, said a Western Standard source close to the board.

The source said the board felt it was “being generous” to the 22 rebel ridings by holding a review in April.

Details on how much it will cost to go to the conference are still being worked out, but it will be a system where you have to pay to vote, the source said.

Those details are expected to be announced in January.

While the board meeting was “friendly,” pro-Kenney factions later held long discussions to plan strategy, said the source.

A convention-style review appears to favour Kenney as opposed to a one-vote-per-party-member system as Kenney is famed for his political organizing power.

His office came under fire last month for allegedly using money from third-party political action committees (PACs) to send people to the UCP AGM which turned into a Kenney love-fest that left the leader smiling.

Kenney denied knowledge of the PAC money.

“I’m not involved in third party organizations, but third party political organizations are free, within the law, to be involved in politics,” said Kenney.

Prior to the AGM Airdrie-Cochrane UCP MLA Peter Guthrie sent Kenney a letter which said the party was on the verge of collapse.

“Public opinion continues to wane, and we may be at a point where this party cannot be salvaged,” writes Guthrie, in the letter obtained by the Western Standard.

“Membership has fallen from 150,000 to less than 10,000 and fundraising is evaporating along with our credibility.”

Much of the UCP grassroots frustration has come on the heels of controversial COVID-19 lockdown restrictions. Kenney also brought in a vaccine passport scheme he vowed never to introduce.

Another scandal that infuriated UCP members was when the infamous pictures were published of Kenney holding an outdoor dinner on the balcony of the “Sky Palace” in contravention of the government’s of laws, regulations, and guidelines.

In April, a UCP MLA told the Western Standard they are “100% certain” Kenney would be the subject of an early party leadership review.

“Caucus is in total chaos,” said the MLA, who spoke with the Western Standard on the condition of anonymity.

But the expected caucus revolt failed to materialize.

At one point the caucus booted MLAs Todd Loewen and Drew Barnes for dissension.

Editor’s note. Due to a typo, the initial version of the story said the review would be April 6. Sources say the vote will take place April 9.

YouTube cancels Western Standard for reporting news story

“Your channel now has one strike,” said YouTube in the e-mail, adding Western Standard’s account has been suspended for one week.

YouTube issued one strike against the Western Standard for reporting on a Calgary police officer who was put on leave for refusing the COVID-19 vaccinations.

YouTube sent the notification via e-mail to Derek Fildebrandt, president and CEO of the Western Standard, on Wednesday, and stated the video included in the story violates YouTube’s “medical misinformation policy.”

“YouTube doesn’t allow claims about COVID-19 vaccinations that contradict expert consensus from local health authorities or the World Health Organization (WHO),” said the e-mail.

“YouTube banned our account for sharing content that contradicted the advice of the WHO and local health authorities,” said Fildebrandt.

“But the WHO and local health authorities contradict themselves. One such health authority, Alberta Health Services (AHS), had to contradict itself after the Western Standard caught them lying to Albertans about which they falsely claimed was a COVID-19 death of a child.”

The notice indicated YouTube had removed the video stating, “We know this might be disappointing, but it’s important to us that YouTube is a safe place for all.”

In the video, an emotional Const. Brian Denison, a 24-year veteran with the Calgary Police Service (CPS), explained the turmoil he has faced for refusing to be vaccinated by the December 1 deadline set out by the CPS.

Denison, one year from retirement, called the vaccine policy a “farce” and said the CPS is “bullying” staff. He also described the segregation of society into the “vaccinated and unvaccinated” as similar to Hitler’s Nazi regime.

The Western Standard’s News Editor Dave Naylor covered the story in an unbiased fashion and included the video of Denison.

“Your channel now has one strike,” said YouTube in the e-mail, adding Western Standard’s account has been suspended for one week.

The YouTube team further warned a second strike will result in a two-week suspension and three strikes within a 90-day period would result in the channel being permanently removed.

“YouTube — like other big tech and big social corporations — is so terrified of being regulated by the government that it over-regulates itself,” said Fildebrandt.

“In time, these monopolies will destroy themselves.”

The Western Standard has already submitted an appeal to YouTube and contacted their press department, as well as moved the video in question to Rumble.

“Of all the social media giants, YouTube has the weakest monopoly,” said Fildebrandt.

“They can ban the Western Standard and other media from posting legitimate news content all they like, and we’ll just put it on other platforms. That’s why we’ve been making a concerted effort to utilize platforms with a greater respect for free speech, like Rumble.”

The Western Standard did not receive a response from YouTube’s press department in time for publishing.

Canada joins growing diplomatic boycott of Chinese 2022 Olympics

The countries say the move is to protest the human rights record of the Chinese government, especially when it comes to the minority Uyghur Muslim community.

First, it was the US. Then Australia. Now Canada has joined the list of countries refusing to send diplomats or high-level officials to the Beijing Winter Olympics next year.

The countries say the move is to protest the human rights record of the Chinese government, especially when it comes to the minority Uyghur Muslim community.

Canadian athletes will still be allowed to compete.

“For months, we have been coordinating and discussing the issue with our allies,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters Wednesday.

“As many partners around the world, we are extremely concerned by the repeated human rights violations by the Chinese government.

“This should not come as a surprise” to the Chinese regime, said Trudeau.

“(The athletes) need to have one thing in mind and that’s representing the country to the best of their ability and winning a gold medal for Canada,” he said.

Earlier this year, the House of Commons passed a motion calling the violence directed at religious minorities in China’s Xinjiang province as “genocide.” Trudeau and his cabinet were absent for the vote.

In a statement, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) said it “understands and respects” the decision and applauds the effort to “draw an important distinction between the participation of athletes and the participation of government officials.”

Canada’s last Olympic boycott was in Russia in 1980, protesting that country’s invasion of Afghanistan.

The US announced its decision on Monday.

“U.S. diplomatic or official representation would treat these games as business as usual in the face of the [People’s Republic of China]’s egregious human rights abuses and atrocities in Xinjiang, and we simply can’t do that,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said during a briefing.

Chinese officials have already said the US will pay for its boycott.
