Senior Alberta doc calls Kenney reopening plan ‘absolute twaddle’

A top Alberta doctor who has been a vocal critic of the province’s COVID-19 strategy, is calling Premier Jason Kenney’s opening plan “absolute twaddle!”

“Again purely arbitrary decisions, with no scientific backing whatsoever,” said Dr. Roger Hodkinson.

On Wednesday, Kenney announced Stage 1 of Alberta’s Open for Summer Plan starts Friday, with churches being allowed to open to 15% of fire code capacity. Other lockdown restrictions will be eased June 1.

But the plan did not impress Hodkinson.

“Kenney could have asked: “How many angels should we allow to dance on the head of a pin today (Dr. Hinshaw) Deena? Twenty-two and-a-half, or thirteen and three-quarters?” said Hodkinson.

“Utter nonsense!”

Hodkinson caused an uproar last November when he said the virus is no worse than a “bad flu.”

“What I am going to say is lay language and blunt,” Hodkinson said during an Edmonton City Council Community and Public Services Committee meeting, audio of which is still on YouTube.

“There is utterly unfounded public hysteria driven by the media and politicians. It’s outrageous. This is the greatest hoax every perpetrated on an unsuspecting public.

“There is absolutely nothing to be done to contain this virus other than protecting your more vulnerable people. It should be thought of as nothing more than a bad flu season,” he said.

“This is not Ebola. It’s not SARS. It’s politics playing medicine. And that’s a very dangerous game.

“Masks are utterly useless. There is no evidence based on their effectiveness whatsoever. Seeing these people walking around like lemmings obeying without any knowledge … putting the masks on.”

Hodkinson said social distancing is also “useless” because the virus can travel up to 30 m before landing.

He also blamed businesses closures for a spate of suicides and other social problems.

“It’s just another bad flu, and you have to get your minds around that. You’re being led down the garden path by the chief medical officer of health (Dr. Deena Hinshaw) in this province,” he said.

“I am absolutely outraged that it has reached this level.”

Hodkinson’s disdain for provincial COVID-19 strategy hasn’t seemed to diminish since November.

“THEY created a non-existent problem, and now demand that WE, the useful idiots, ‘solve’ it for them by taking a very experimental untested vaccine! What gall!” Hodkinson told the Western Standard in an e-mail this week.

Alberta has had 226,000 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, resulting in 2,199 deaths.

Hodkinson is the CEO of Western Medical Assessments, and has been the company’s medical director for more than 20 years. He received his general medical degrees from Cambridge University in the U.K., and then became a Royal College certified pathologist in Canada (FRCPC) following a residency in Vancouver.

He also taught at the University of Alberta and runs MutantDx, a molecular diagnostics company in North Carolina.

Hi Dennis. Credentials? I am a darn good tradesman who is tired of a never ending train of nobodies getting air time for one agenda or the other.
I follow our decision makers here in alberta. The rest of the country and nobodies can screw off.

    @Gene Lafferty

I just watched Dr. Coleman’s video. I’m very skeptical to speculate that far in the future but he has some really good points. Especially the refusal to debate, that alone tarnishes someone’s actions.

To Cosmo Kramer, the ao called virus has not been isolate in lab. 1500 PCR test Samples were sent to labs to be SEQUENCED and only INFLUENZA A and B were found. KIWI, papaya, Coke a Cola, sidewalk samples, dog hair all gave false Positives. They ramp up the amplification at a high level to guarantee POSITIVES, we have been and continue to be played so that the PLANNED agendas move forward full speed. They create crisis and the pn get all the green oihts they want to move their evil agenda forward, setting us up for a TOTALITARIAN system this time, global in reach

So Richard, what are your credentials? From your comment one must assume you think you are qualified to denounce this gentleman’s statement. Or, are you just another CBC, CTV Global Sheeple? Sounds more like the latter to me, but then maybe I’m not as qualified as you are. Do you have a rock to crawl under?

    I agree with @Matt C.

But I also think no one wants to be the first domino to fall cause they know what’s going to happen around the world when they figure out this wasn’t a big deal. Countries like the Philippines and Brazil will have up rising cause there was reports of people being shot in the streets during lock downs. I’m guessing if there were to be a world war 3 it would likely be a global civil war.

Kenny is no Rachel Notley and he isn’t a Gavin Newsom. What he is, is a premier who was doing a respectable job until covid hit, and he, along with many government leaders, understandably followed the “experts”. Unfortunately, when the evidence began to contradict the hysteria being pushed by the media, many of those same leaders seemed to be reluctant to admit that “The emperor has no clothes” (I.e. they had bought into a hoax) and/or they recognized that this virus presented an opportunity to greatly expand the powers of the state. I’m inclined to think that Kenny falls more into the former camp and just didn’t have the fortitude to walk it back and push back against the mainstream media propagandists.

The enemy is the mainstream media. Global warming… covid pandemic… white nationalism…..systemic rascism…. their go-to talking points to divide and conquer.

Penny . . . it’s the AHS, Hinshaw & Kenny who have created the problems for the residents of Alberta . . . their inability to assess the situation, identify problem areas and react in a positive manner that has led to their being targets today.

Imagine if Premier Kenny had acted like a Leader, a year ago called say the PM of Sweden, the Govs of Florida & South Dakota to pick their brains or even talked to the Dr. in this article or numerous other Drs. that had a different approach than the status quo.

Of course he did not . . . because he is NO Leader, Kenny, like our Justin was hiding under his bed. WHO Tam is still spouting nonsense today, along with Canada’s fraud Media is complicit in this disaster.

When all the dust settles and the Drug Deaths, Suicides, deaths due to lack of access to healthcare, treatments & diagnostic services are ALL added up, it will likely be double Covid deaths.

No Thinking person does the same Program Over & Over expecting a Different Result . . .but Canada’s Political Class did . . . complete utter failures, all of them.

It’s fascinating that people are so focused on projecting their anger toward this govt when this hoax is global. It’s not just Kenney or Hinshaw who have sold out their neighbors, it is every govt along with their medical mafia worldwide. People need to start looking at the bigger picture to realize what is actually happening. The so-called conspiracy theories that were circulating early last year have all come true, yet people are still quick to dismiss the remaining ones. We will never get our freedom back if people are not willing to hear what other people think or have learned and actually consider it. There are thousands of Drs like Dr. Hodkinson who saw this hoax early on. Kudos to all of them for having the courage to speak out.

I have read a lot about Dr. Vernon Coleman at VernonColeman.org. He is out of the UK. He has written and produced a number of videos in regards to covid. His track record is impeccable having written numerous books, periodicals and papers on general health (for over 50 plus years) and genetic therapy which is being pushed today at the highest levels of governments round the world. He has systematically been destroyed by government shills and the bbc where incidentally he had an award winning tv series back in the 1970s. A remarkable doctor who has some dire warnings about what the ultimate goal will be which factors in to agenda 2030. Here is a sampling of what is coming if we do not act on this http://thephaser.com/2021/05/why-how-they-plan-to-kill-7-billion-dr-vernon-coleman/

A hoax, I said it all along, for the purpose to close private business, orchestrated world wide. A satanic forced end of the man’s God given ability of self-sufficiency for himself, his family and other fellows..

The end goal: total dependence on a big, fat world gvt. From there.. I suggest watch the movie “The Road”. That is where everything leads to – a great reduction of the world’s population. Conspiracy theories? Lately all of these are no longer theories.

Kenney – a useless garbage serving the above description. He will never find a job again, anywhere, unless.. in a cubicle somewhere, without seeing people. Alone.
BTW, Kenney, we have beautiful tall bridges – find yourself one and.. admire it.

It’s mind blowing that people are volunteering to inject this vaccine into themselves without even considering researching what they are taking and the proven outcomes to date.
You check details on cars and research gas mileage and safety ratings and re sale value, you research neighborhoods and crime rates before buying a home which you inspect for issues before you buy ….. but your just going to believe politicians, health priests that sell Covidism and the media… all who have lied consistently the last 15 months , and take a vaccine that is only 8 months old using a potentially devastating DNA altering technolog…. resulting in death and health conditions in many cases…. are you all on fucking drugs?

My dads friend took it healthy 50 odd year old guy and he was paralyzed for 2 weeks! And now can walk but like a cripple… don’t know what he took but that alone has me saying f*ck no ,

I’ll get Covid , get better and have life long immunity which is what they are seeing in the US…the real data.

Show me the compensation plan for any side effects and I may show you my arm … but if that can’t be done …🖕🏻

I like this man! Kenney was a decent premier until this scamdemic rolled around, now he is ignoring the actual science and acting like Cuomo in NY. IF he paid attention, he would know lockdowns don’t work, but doing that would mean he would have to relinquish the new found power he is so very fond of. I watched him for a few minutes when he was live online earlier: he is looking nervous because the response to his ludicrous 3rd lockdown has driven most of his supporters away.

First the question; how many people who tested positive actually had the virus? How come their was no alternate treatments offered ? What about raising the immune system.? Who put the AHS and the unions in charge? Who voted AHS and their union to run Alberta?

While covid19 is real (we know someone who had a severe case and had to be hospitalized) the death number 2,199 is very questionable. We personally know one person who had cancer and was given until last February to live. In December this person got covid19 and had moderate symptoms for a week and then recovered. The person then passed away from cancer in February. The doctor put covid19 on the death certificate and the family rightfully protested and had it changed to cancer. This person could have easily rounded it up to 2,000. How many other covid19 deaths that were counted with people who recovered after a positive PCR test? Shame on all the spineless corrupt doctors who are taking part in this fraud.

BC drops more COVID fines under pressure from Justice Centre

On Tuesday, the JCCF announced that five more “public health” tickets issued to its clients have been dropped by Crown Prosecutors in BC.

BC officials have dropped five more COVID-19 related tickets in response to pressure from the Justice Centre.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) is funded by voluntary donations and represents its clients free of charge.

On Tuesday, the JCCF announced five more “public health” tickets issued to its clients have been dropped by Crown prosecutors in BC.

Three tickets totalling $6,900 were issued to a health care worker named Nadine Podmoroff, who organized three outdoor events in Castlegar and Nelson.

Podmoroff said, according to JCCF, that leading up to the Dec. 21, 2020 event she was in contact with Castlegar RCMP who gave her the green light to proceed without being ticketed as long as the laws were followed.

Policed “monitored the event throughout and said we behaved peacefully,” said Podmoroff, who added RCMP did not issue any tickets until two days after the event when they arrived at her home and issued a ticket of $2,300.

Podmoroff organized two additional outdoor rallies shortly after, for which she was also ticketed.

JCCF filed a Notice of Constitutional Question on Nov. 5, 2021, challenging the validity of the tickets issued to Podmoroff. On Nov. 15, 2021, the Crown dropped two tickets challenged by the notice, as well as an additional ticket issued to an unnamed individual who spoke at a protest with Podmoroff.

Podmoroff has one remaining ticket from Dec. 21, 2020 which JCCF is attempting to have dropped.

“The scientific data unequivocally shows outdoor public gatherings are not, and never were, a public health risk,” said Jay Cameron, litigation director at JCCF.

Additional tickets issued to JCCF’s clients for protesting or holding in person religious services have also been recently dropped in BC, according to the organization, which is in the process of having dozens of more tickets dropped in the province — such as a church in Fort St. John that was fined for recording a Zoom service in its building with staff present.

“The Justice Centre will continue to defend BC citizens against the Government’s unjust violation of their Charter rights,” said Cameron.

BC-based non-profit the Canadian Society for the Advancement of Science in Public Policy’s (CSASPP) Executive Director, Kip Warner, among others involved in combating state overreach, speaks highly of the JCCF.

“The problems Canadians are facing are across the country and are best met with areas of responsibility allocated to different competent campaigns,” Warner told the Western Standard.

“For that reason Alberta’s JCCF and BC’s CSASPP have a complimentary, productive, and professional working relationship.”

Liberals axe mandatory minimum sentences for many firearms crimes

“Conservatives believe that serious, violent offences that are committed with firearms deserve mandatory prison time. It’s shameful that the Liberals think we should be weakening firearms laws in Canada,” said Rob Moore in a statement.

mm

Published

on

The Liberal government is moving again to eliminate the mandatory minimum prison (MMPs) times handed to people convicted of some gun crimes.

A proposed Liberal bill would affect 14 Criminal Code sections and six drug-related offences.

The gun offences that would see MMPs dropped include possessing a restricted firearm with ammunition, weapons trafficking, discharging a firearm while committing an offence, reckless discharge of a firearm, and extortion and robbery with a firearm.

It follows a similar bill the party introduced February that died without being passed when the election was called in August.

It would remove MMPs from 13 firearms offences and one for a tobacco offence.

MMPs would remain for murder, treason, impaired driving and sexual offences, as well as a some firearms offences.

“With Bill C-5, we are turning the page on the policy of the former government. It is a policy that in the end did not discourage crime or make our justice system more efficient or more fair,” Justice Minister David Lametti said.

“All the approach did was imprison too many indigenous, black and marginalized Canadians.

“Indigenous adults represent 5% of the general population but account for 30% of federally incarcerated inmates. That’s double where it was 20 years ago.”

The legislation also would repeal MMPs for all six offences to which they apply under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, including possession, trafficking and the production of substances classified under Schedules 1 and 2 of the act.

“This measure will allow for more effective rehabilitation and integration by allowing individuals to keep their job, to care for their children or family members or to seek counselling or treatment for substance and addictions abuse,” Lametti said.

“Think about your own kids. Perhaps they got into trouble at some point with the law. I bet you would want to give them the benefit of the doubt or a second chance if they messed up. Well, it is a lot harder to get a second chance the way things are now.

“And that’s particularly true if you are a young person who happens to be indigenous or black.”

Conservative justice critic Rob Moore was less than pleased with the proposal.

“Conservatives believe that serious, violent offences committed with firearms deserve mandatory prison time. It’s shameful that the Liberals think we should be weakening firearms laws in Canada,” said Moore in a statement.

“This bill is soft on crime and puts communities and victims at risk.”

Indigenous leaders welcome ‘Elders Wisdom Panels’ recommended by Allan Inquiry

Stephen Buffalo, President & CEO of Indian Resource Council, wants the premier to formally accept the Allan report in the legislature and Energy Minister Savage to give a mandate to elders panels.

Published

on

Indigenous leaders are calling on the Alberta government to implement vital First Nations recommendations from the Allan Inquiry’s Final Report, including the establishment of Elders Wisdom Panels.

The statements were issued in a press release by the Indian Resource Council which was founded in 1987 by chiefs following the recommendation of a task force that was established to study the role of the Crown in the management of First Nations oil and natural gas resources.

The IRC now represents more than 155 oil and gas producing First Nations across Canada.

“Commissioner Steve Allan has defined a vital instrument — Elders Wisdom Panels — for opening a novel path to relationship development, establishing common purpose and the cooperative and constructive economic foundations for reconciliation,” said Stephen Buffalo president and CEO of IRC.

“We call upon Premier Jason Kenney to advance a motion of acceptance in the Alberta Legislature of the Allan Inquiry Final Report’s six recommendations. Energy Minister Sonya Savage should then work with Chief Littlechild and other respected elders to formulate the terms and mandate for Elders Wisdom Panels, including the implementation of regulations that require Elders Wisdom Panels as constructive intermediators for all substantive resource developments.”

In his report, Steve Allan noted that $102 million had gone from nine U.S. foundations to indigenous environmental initiatives from 2003 through 2019.

Allan said elders panels could “breach the divide, not only within and between First Nations communities, but also to advance greater understanding among all Canadians of First Nations issues, as well as the responsible stewardship of Canada’s natural resources.”

Bearspaw First Nation, part of the Stoney-Nakoda Nation in Alberta, has been involved in resource development and natural gas for nearly 70 years. Chief Darcy Dixon believes the Allan report and elders panels could facilitate more development.

“The Allan Inquiry provides solid recommendations for resolution of conflicts among indigenous groups, energy developers, environmental groups and governments. For too long we have been handicapped by the Indian Act and a government bureaucracy that restricts our ability to create strong economies for ourselves and to become true business partners. Elders Wisdom Panels would certainly help bring about mutually beneficial agreements, as well as a greater level of mutual understanding,” he said.

Former Grand Chief Wilton J. Littlechild, a lawyer and one of three commissioners of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, also gave his endorsement.

“Commissioner Steve Allan’s recommendations must not be ignored,” said Littlechild, who added the panels could help Canada fulfill its obligations under the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

The Ermineskin Cree Nation, located 80 kilometers south of Edmonton, has been involved in oil and gas for more than 60 years from the Bonnie Glen Field at Pigeon Lake. Chief Randy Ermieskin believes economic development and reconciliation go together.

“Reconciliation begins when indigenous people grow their own economies for financial security and stability and have meaningful participation in the greater Canadian and international marketplace. First Nations themselves also need to come together to joint venture and partner in large projects, many of which are in the energy sector. We are a force that is not going away,” said Ermineskin.

Mac Van Wielingen, Founder of ARC Financial Corp and incoming chair of the Business Council of Alberta, believes the indigenous aspects of the “large and comprehensive” Allan report have received too little attention.

“The public discussion to date has focused narrowly on foreign funding of opposition to Canadian oil and gas development… [but] the Allan Inquiry Final Report has many other constructive recommendations,” said Van Wielingen.

“Canada’s resource sector is ideally placed to accelerate indigenous reconciliation through partnership, education, training and economic development that advance multi-generational self-reliance and shared prosperity. Elders Wisdom Panels will help bridge the opportunity gaps and build the structural conditions for economic and social sustainability among all Canadians.”
