LETTER: People fooled to thinking masks help stop COVID spread

RE: Alberta orders mandatory masks in schools for reopening

I am writing in regards to our current mask policy in Alberta.

When the world first found out about the COVID-19 outbreak we were told by our so-called experts that it was NOT necessary for healthy individuals to be walking around with masks on.  Dr. Fauci in the US said: “Wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is.”

But in their infinite wisdom, our leaders decided that making people “feel better” was more important than being honest.  The truth about masks is that they do NOT provide protection against COVID-19!

Numerous studies have been conducted which showed the wearing of masks provided either no discernible difference in the spread or may even result in worse outcomes.  Yet in spite of the science, our leaders have perpetuated this falsehood.

For months now citizens of Alberta have been forced to strap a lie across their face to make others FEEL better!  Many of us know this is nothing more than virtue signalling!  When will leaders or the media start reporting the truth about that fact?

Longing for the freedom to breathe freely again,

Masks for a virus are mostly ineffective.

If public health cared about saving lives they would not knowingly lower peoples oxygen levels to prevent a virus from causing lower respiratory infection (LRI). I’m not against masks–They have their place, but to use them to prevent LRI is absurd. In the Canadian Health and Safety procedures when dealing with the Hantavirus they recommend using a respiratory or supplied air to reduce chances of infection. Obviously this is not practical so the best course of action would have been to promote a healthy life style (Eat healthy, wash hands, Get enough sleep, exercise etc.) ,and protect the vulnerable if they request it. I think the biggest mistake Public Health has made is enforcement. With a recommendation you can at least say you made the best choices you could at the time.

Masks are pretty much useless . . . but a great sign that you are Obedient to Authority!

Why not ask an Expert . . . . Masks: The Science & Myths

    https://www.americasfrontlinedoctors.com/custom_videos/mask-myths/

Dr. James Meehan, MD, testified: “Reports coming from my colleagues all over the world are suggesting that the bacterial pneumonia are on the rise” as a result of moisture collecting in face masks.

Masks are toxic. Most masks and face coverings, including cloth, are made with toxic and carcinogenic chemicals, including fire retardant, fiberglass, lead, phthalates, polyfluorinated chemicals and formaldehyde which those wearing masks are forced to breathe in all day.

Masks do NOT reduce infections. A CDC-funded review on masking in May 2020 concluded:

Evidence from 14 randomized controlled trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza.”

There were 17 eligible studies.…None of the studies established a conclusive relationship between mask⁄respirator use and protection against influenza infection,” states a research review in the journal Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses. The data is in, and it shows that infections rose at the same or at an increased rate after mask mandates were instituted!

The Dutch Minister for Medical Care, Tamara van Ark, stated:

from a medical perspective there is no proven effectiveness of masks” (National Institute for Health, July 29, 2020)
By making mask-wearing recommendations and policies for the general public, or by expressly condoning the practice, governments have both ignored the scientific evidence and done the opposite of following the precautionary principle,” writes Denis Rancourt, PhD in his 2020 paper “Masks Don’t Work”.

This is now an accepted fact. SINCE MASKS ARE HAZARDOUS AND USELESS, IT IS IMMORAL AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL FOR ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY OR BUSINESS TO FORCE CITIZENS/EMPLOYEES/CUSTOMERS TO WEAR THEM.

RE: Wall says Calgary oil firms should seek greener pastures

Newly elected mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondek’s rush to declare a ‘climate emergency’ will keep her on the front pages, but it comes with a nasty price tag.

RE: FILDEBRANDT: Alberta’s government lied about the death of young teen Nathanael Spitzer, and the media buried it

Thank you for your well-written article about Nathaneal Spitzer.

I’m so tired of all the clickbait headlines. The trashy stories. The articles written about things that don’t matter. The news forced on readers by those with a bigger/hidden agenda.

In the midst of a tragic time, when there is so much fear and anger swirling around, I’m very thankful to be reminded that there are writers like you that still care and want to fight for truth.

Thank you.

LETTER: Kenney shouldn’t be given any slack at all

He is the worst example I have seen as a failed politician that I have seen in my seventy years.

RE: MAKICHUK: It’s time we cut Premier Kenney some slack

I have watched politics all my life and have never seen as an inept performance as Jason Kenny has put on.

He came to Alberta as our conservative saviour. He took over a party with a message that represented a lot of people’s views especially in rural Alberta and then proceeded to ignore the fundamentals of that platform.

Issues such as the Crownest debate on rail movement of grain where Western producers actually were thrown in jail for carrying a bucket full of grain across the Montana border have brought distrust. Trudeau has destroyed in many us the desire to be a part of this joke called Canada.

Kenny apparently was the man to bring these and many more issues to the Canadian public and demand change. In spite of many letters to him to encourage him to do something he has tucked his tail between his legs and completely dropped the ball.

If you are a conservative voter as I am, trying to find any reflection of a conservative values in his policy is hard to do. To those of us who committed time and money to the Wildrose Party much of what he has portrayed is a slap in the face. His treatment of many people during this so-called pandemic is not in the interests of those of us that believe in democracy.

He is the worst example I have seen as a failed politician that I have seen in my seventy years. What a disaster he has been and as far as cutting him slack forget it. He had a clear mandate when he took on his role from the people who put him there. Your wanting to cut him slack is an insult to the Wildrose base who put this incompetent fool in and were betrayed.

No Media Bailouts

The fourth estate is critical to a functioning democracy in holding the government to account. An objective media can't maintain editorial integrity when it accepts money from a government we expect it to be critical of.

We the undersigned call on the Canadian government to immediately cease all payouts to media companies.
