LETTER: Vacationing politicians need to get the boot

mm

Published

on

The actions of the travelling politicians cannot be tolerated or excused. Their hollow apologies or their boss’s statements [that] everyone makes mistakes or such are not acceptable. That might apply to traffic violations or such.

These politicians’ arrogant, self-serving, egregious lack of good judgment and scruples deserve nothing less than being booted from caucus and publicly hounded until they are forced to resign their seats. They should also be permanently barred from ever holding public office or positions of trust.

It is important to note that in the private sector if an employee’s actions bring shame on,  or otherwise damage the company reputation or image, it is just cause for discipline or dismissal.

LETTER: Kenney’s Keystone antics ‘childish’

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney is proving how unreliable Canadians can be in front of their largest trading partner and ally.

RE: Kenney wants Keystone XL pipeline cash back from US

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney is proving how unreliable Canadians can be in front of their largest trading partner and ally.

His wish to sue the Biden administration in Washington because they pulled out of the Keystone XL pipeline is childish and a move worthy of the likes of former President Donald Trump. One has to admire a President ready to fulfill campaign promises as soon as he takes office and he will prove to Washington’s enemies that he is a man to fear.

It’s time for Alberta to grow up and stop dictating energy and environmental policy in this country.

LETTER: Thanks for clearing up the Sloan fiasco

Erin O’Toole is a fool. He is shooting his party in the foot and it is clearly a frame-up job on Derek Sloan.

RE: FILDEBRANDT: $131 Sloan donation leak was an inside job – Conservative MPs tell us so

Thank you so much for so clearly explaining what happened to Derek Sloan.

He has mega-support out West and in certain ridings in Ontario.

Erin O’Toole is a fool. He is shooting his party in the foot and it is clearly a frame-up job on Derek Sloan.

Sloan won 16% of the popular vote (in the leadership race). Following O’Toole’s election to the leader of the party,  Pam Damoff, Liberal MP for Oakville North-Burlington, posted a letter urging O’Toole to eject Derek from the CPC caucus.

She knows very well that this un-Parliamentary ad-hominem attack would see her escorted from the House of Commons, but of course, we don’t have Parliament right now, thanks to Justin Trudeau.

Many are out to get him out of politics. It stinks! What is the difference between the Conservative Party and the Liberal Party? Negligible.

LETTER: Another reader says no way Western Standard is ‘hot garbage’

I’m not sure what “hot garbage” means. As opposed to “cold garbage” or “lukewarm garbage”?

RE: Letter from William Graboski that Western Standard is “hot garbage.”

Dear Sir or Madam:

I’m not sure what “hot garbage” means. As opposed to “cold garbage” or “lukewarm garbage”?

I have seen garbage on fire and that’s not bad, more entertaining than cold garbage just sitting there with no one paying attention, such as the CBC. Is “hot garbage” a metaphor for sizzling commentary on unpleasant current events? If so, I am enjoying the Western Standard’s hot garbage immensely.
