RE: Calgary BLM mural now headed for Chinatown

When I read this I don’t see black, I see Red. If this mayor and council want to buy into the Burn, Loot and Murder group by putting up murals they can use their own god damn money. If they’re using my tax dollar it better say ALL LIVES MATTER. Somebody better get their head out of the sand before it’s too late.

LETTER: Makichuk hits the nail on the head by slamming Trudeau

RE: Trudeau shows true colours with slap in the face to Alberta

Thank you for this article.. and your plain-speak on this issue. As a Saskatchewan resident and member of the Maverick Party, I am on the same page as you present in the piece.

And thank you for speaking of the struggle as one we share in the West. Most folks in this fight tend to speak of “Alberta’s Struggle” … there have been times when I think Saskatchewan is more dedicated to independence than Albertans, but followers of professor Barry Cooper tend to think as Barry does that Alberta needs to make the independence move and other provinces can follow if they like… I don’t share that view. We will be stronger together!

For example, job one for both Saskatchewan and Alberta independence is a provincial police force. Why not create a joint force that polices both jurisdictions. Once we are independent that force can be the National force… or continue municipal policing.

Food for thought. Thank you for your work!

RE: Wall says Calgary oil firms should seek greener pastures

Newly elected mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondek’s rush to declare a ‘climate emergency’ will keep her on the front pages, but it comes with a nasty price tag.

LETTER: Praise for WS work on Spitzer tragedy

“I’m so tired of all the clickbait headlines. The trashy stories.”

RE: FILDEBRANDT: Alberta’s government lied about the death of young teen Nathanael Spitzer, and the media buried it

Thank you for your well-written article about Nathaneal Spitzer.

I’m so tired of all the clickbait headlines. The trashy stories. The articles written about things that don’t matter. The news forced on readers by those with a bigger/hidden agenda.

In the midst of a tragic time, when there is so much fear and anger swirling around, I’m very thankful to be reminded that there are writers like you that still care and want to fight for truth.

Thank you.

No Media Bailouts

The fourth estate is critical to a functioning democracy in holding the government to account. An objective media can't maintain editorial integrity when it accepts money from a government we expect it to be critical of.

We the undersigned call on the Canadian government to immediately cease all payouts to media companies.
